MCHS School Site Council & Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)

What is the role and purpose of the School Site Council?
The Council is a public oversight group that reviews school achievement data, the school comprehensive safety plan and gives input on categorical money expenditures to ensure alignment with the School Plan for Student Achievement. 
 
Seats on the Council
There are 12 seats in total made up of an equal number of students and parents to the number of school staff. The Mt. Carmel High School School Site Council consists of 3 parents/community members, 3 students and 6 staff members. Terms are 2 years in length for each seat on the SSC. Parents/community members are elected by the parent community during Back to School Night in August, students are elected by the student body during the Student Senate meeting after filling out a ballot application to be included on the ballot. Staff are elected by school staff. 
 
Fall 2024
There will be one Parent/Community Member seat up for election.
There will be two Student seats up for election.
