National Honor Society

National Honor Society is a nationally affiliated organization emphasizing scholastic achievement, exemplary personal character, leadership, and community service. NHS members are highly motivated and well-balanced students, who actively work with teachers and students at MCHS as tutors and peer role models. Members take the most rigorous academic classes offered at MCHS and participate in a variety of extracurricular activities, including commitments of regular volunteer work in our community.
Basic Information
Sophomores and Juniors with a qualifying GPA of 4.0 (weighted) or 3.80 (unweighted) are eligible to apply. The unweighted GPA includes all courses except PE, Marching PE, School Services, Planning and Leadership (ASB), and Work Experience. It includes Honors and AP courses.

Membership in NHS provides opportunities for scholarships and special recognition at graduation. Applications will be available in late March. Applicants can get their questions answered by contacting the NHS officers at [email protected] or by contacting the NHS advisor, Ms. Bolin, at [email protected] or (858) 484-1180 ext. 3455.

Note: Students who are currently in NHS do not have to reapply each year.
Please check back in March 2024 for the next application period.
